A dreamy experience near Aimia Hotel
Discover Port de Sóller: One of the Best Places to Watch the Sunset in Mallorca
Nestled between the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Port de Sóller is one of the most picturesque destinations on Mallorca’s north coast. With its stunning natural surroundings, panoramic views, and peaceful bay, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a Mediterranean sunset. In spring and summer, visitors flock to this charming harbor to soak up the sun and admire the sunset from seaside bars. But today, we’ll take you off the beaten path to discover three magical and lesser-known spots to watch the sunset near Aimia Hotel.

1. Santa Catalina Viewpoint: The Closest Sunset Spot to Aimia Hotel in Port de Sóller
The Santa Catalina Viewpoint is the nearest and one of the most scenic places to enjoy the sunset near Aimia Hotel in Port de Sóller. Located in the traditional fishermen’s neighborhood, this spot offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean and the bay of Port de Sóller.
To get there, head from Aimia Hotel towards the Albatros café, then walk up the street next to the local tobacconist: Carrer de Santa Caterina d’Alexandria. After a 2-minute walk, you'll see a pedestrian path with steps—take the stairs for a quicker route to the top.

At the summit, you’ll reach an open space in front of the Museu de la Mar, a small maritime museum worth visiting. From here, you can choose to watch the sunset over the open sea or enjoy a panoramic view of the port’s bay—both breathtaking. After sunset, it’s just a short 10-12 minute walk back to the center of Port de Sóller.

2. Sunset at Carrer d’Alaró: A Peaceful Spot with Stunning Views Over Port de Sóller Bay
For a quieter and lesser-known place to watch the sunset in Port de Sóller, Carrer d’Alaró is a hidden gem. Though it’s not an official viewpoint, this dead-end street offers breathtaking views of the bay and a peaceful setting to enjoy a Mallorcan sunset.
You can reach it from Aimia Hotel either by car or with a pleasant 15-minute uphill walk. Start from the hotel towards the parking area on Calle Lepanto, then follow the road up to Carrer Bunyola and turn onto Carrer d’Alaró. The end of this street provides one of the best sunset views in the area.

After the sun sets, you can return to the hotel the same way. If walking, consider taking Carrer d’Alaró all the way down to the seafront promenade for a relaxing stroll back to Aimia Hotel along the coast.

3. Sunset at Cap Gros Lighthouse: The Most Breathtaking Viewpoint in Port de Sóller
Cap Gros Lighthouse is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking spots to enjoy the sunset in Port de Sóller. Located on a clifftop facing the sea, this lighthouse offers panoramic views of the bay, the open Mediterranean, and a colorful sky as the sun sets.
From Aimia Hotel, you can walk there in about 40 minutes via the seafront promenade toward Platja d’en Repic and then up the Camí del Far. However, we recommend driving to avoid walking back in the dark. Take the Sa Mola Tunnel toward Sóller, exit at the Monument roundabout, then head back toward the port and turn off just before the tunnel toward Platja d’en Repic. Follow Carrer del Camp de Mar and then Camí del Far. In about 12 minutes, you’ll reach Cap Gros Lighthouse. Park near the Refugi de Muleta and enjoy one of the most magical sunsets in Mallorca, with views of s’Illeta and Sa Torre Picada.
Perfect for photography lovers and romantic moments.
