A Day in Cala Tuent by Private Boat

A 100% Mediterranean Experience

One of the greatest attractions of Puerto de Sóller is the wide variety of experiences it offers. Here, you can enjoy not only its privileged location but also its cultural, gastronomic, and natural richness, all with that unmistakable 100% Mediterranean essence.

Staying at the Aimia Hotel is the best way to discover the north coast of Mallorca in a truly exclusive way, exploring dreamlike spots such as the route that connects Puerto de Sóller with Cala Tuent. Today, we invite you to join us on an unforgettable plan: a private boat excursion to explore one of the island’s most authentic gems.

1. Renting the boat and setting sail from Puerto de Sóller

The first step in this unique experience is renting a boat. In Puerto de Sóller, you’ll find several companies offering boats with or without a skipper. Our reception team at the Aimia Hotel will be delighted to help you arrange your booking in advance.

Your adventure begins early in the morning as you set sail to starboard. As you leave the harbor, you’ll spot the old lighthouse of Puerto de Sóller and the Santa Catalina viewpoint, next to one of the many historic watchtowers that once defended Mallorca’s coastline.

2. From La Miranda to Ses Cambres

Once past the Santa Catalina viewpoint, also known as La Miranda, you’ll see Sa Torre Picada on the cliffside before reaching the striking rock formations of Ses Puntes, famous for being the landing point of Turkish pirates during the failed invasion of Sóller on May 11, 1561.

Shortly after, you’ll reach a small bay perfect for your first stop: Ses Cambres. With its crystal-clear waters, this secluded cove is a favorite among locals who come to relax and enjoy the natural setting.

Continuing your journey, you’ll pass by S’Illeta, a small islet separated from the coast by a picturesque channel navigable by boat. Be cautious as you cross Es Freu de s’Illa, since just after lies Es Banc de s’Oli, a shallow rocky area that could damage your boat if not avoided. From here, you’ll encounter fascinating rock formations such as Es Torrent de Na Mora (which resembles the profile of a woman with a turban), Es Cap d’es Cavall (shaped like a horse), and even a natural cave you can enter if you are an experienced sailor.

3. From S’Illeta to Cala Tuent

Your private boat trip continues toward the bay of Sa Costera, where you’ll find natural wonders like the mushroom-shaped rock, the Sa Costera spring, and the old fishermen’s houses by the pier.

Finally, you’ll arrive at Cala Tuent, one of the few untouched coves that remain in Mallorca. About 180 meters wide and surrounded by mountains, this pebble beach is a peaceful haven mostly frequented by locals from Escorca, Fornalutx, and Sóller. Here you won’t find restaurants, beach bars, or sunbeds—just the sea, nature, and the true essence of the Mediterranean.

If you want to complete your visit, we recommend dining at Es Vergeret, the only restaurant in the area. Perched on a hilltop, it offers breathtaking sea views and an excellent menu of Mediterranean cuisine. Reservations are highly recommended, especially in summer.

4. Returning to Aimia Hotel

After a relaxing day at Cala Tuent, it’s time to sail back to Puerto de Sóller. On your return, you can revisit some of the coves explored earlier or drop anchor near the port to enjoy a magical sunset from your private boat.

Exploring the north coast of Mallorca by boat is a truly unique experience that we 100% recommend. If you’re staying at the Aimia Hotel and would like more details about this or other excursions from Puerto de Sóller, our reception team will be happy to assist you in creating an unforgettable Mediterranean adventure.
